Start of the season on the Hochkönig in winter 2021/22

Is it winter again? The cold season is knocking at the door and brings with it everything that makes skiing and alpine fans happy. The summit of feelings is getting ready for its white dress. Depending on the snow conditions and official requirements, the season will start on the Hochkönig this year on December 3rd, 2021. The winter season, which is expected to last until April 18, 2022 (Easter Monday), once again combines exquisite slopes and glorious weather with the optimal amount of action and relaxation. The first events for winter 2021/22 have also been set.

The perfect skiing holiday on the Hochkönig

Just in time for the start of the season on the Hochkönig, pretty much all 34 lifts should open and make 120 km of varied slopes accessible from the three villages of Maria Alm, Dienten and, of course, Mühlbach am Hochkönig. Well-groomed descents are of course ensured, because the preparations are already being fine-tuned at full speed. Of course, snowmaking systems are available just in case. Around the slopes there are also countless huts with the finest delicacies (please note the current admission regulations!) and the Königstour with its six peaks and other culinary tours between skiing action and delectation definitely want to be experienced.

Events during spring-like winter holidays on the Hochkönig

While there is still some reluctance to plan events for the supposedly classic winter months, there should be time for the modern classics again in the last part of the season. The following event dates are currently planned:

• Folk music Skihüttenroas (March 13, 2022): Tradition and music meet winter fun in the participating Hochkönig huts.
• Alpine Craft Party Night on the Mountain (March 25th, 2022): Breweries, food trucks and other stations are transformed into places of high spirits.
• Alpine Craft Festival (03/26/2022): Selected, fine beers from small breweries, plus DJs, live acts and fine food – the craft event is entering the next round!
