The alpine Hochkönig-Königstour in winter
Ski tours are the ideal way to fully exploit the diversity of a winter sports area. They lead over the most important pistes and slopes, tackle the most beautiful mountains and invite you to wonderful panoramic rides with the lifts and mountain railways. The Hochkönig-Königstour helps to discover and enjoy the ski area from its most beautiful, most magical side – and that in just one day.
The demanding ski tour on the Hochkönig
The numbers alone speak for themselves: six peaks, 35 kilometers of pistes and 7,500 meters in altitude, seamlessly accessible via several lifts, lead across the summit of emotions in several hours. Yellow and orange directional arrows point the way to the Hochkönig ski tour, which is of course also ideal for snowboarders. Overview maps showing the way through Maria Alm, Mühlbach and Dienten are available at the ticket offices. You can start the Königstour from any of the three Hochkönig communities. In addition, various photo points await you along the tour, including on the Gabühel and the Aberg Langeck. Trigger the self-timer with your ski pass and the perfect souvenir photo is ready!
Piste highlights along the tour
Of course, the Königstour on the Hochkönig is rich in fantastic pistes. The following descents from throne to throne are also particularly recommended beyond the tour:
- Schneeberg family descent: In the direction of Mühlbach, this blue piste leads from 1,921 m directly into the valley. It also gives families the ultimate view of the summit of emotions.
- Aberg-Langeck: Another valley run, this time to Maria Alm, can branch off from the blue piste onto two different black pistes for professionals.
- Wastlhöhe: Dienten is also accessible via an exciting descent. The red slope alternates with flat sections. In this way, the steep passages can be bypassed.
The Königstour is a must on your next winter holiday on the Hochkönig. And in the warm season, hikers and bikers conquer the trails and paths. The Hotel Sonnhof in Mühlbach am Hochkönig is the ideal holiday base camp at any time of the year. Have you already requested a non-binding holiday offer?
